When will Claude Code let you work again?
A Claude Code limit can arrive in the middle of an otherwise productive session. You remember when you started, but not necessarily when the window ends, and the message about weekly usage can look deceptively similar.
Put in the time of your first message and this calculator will show a possible end to your five-hour session window on your own clock. If you know your weekly reset, you can add that separately. The important distinction is that waiting five hours does not clear a weekly allowance.

Waiting out the 5 hour window does nothing for the weekly limit. They are two separate limits, and the weekly one resets at a fixed time each week that Anthropic assigns to your account. If Claude Code says you are out for the week, the clock above is not the one that matters. How this works. Anthropic describes the session limit as a rolling 5 hour window and does not document what opens it. This calculator assumes the widely reported behaviour: the first message of a session opens the window, and it closes 5 hours later whether you keep working or step away. The reset time in Claude Code's limit message and in /usage is the authority; trust it over this page. Weekly limits sit on top and reset at a fixed time each week assigned to your account. Hosting does not change your limits. The quota follows your Anthropic account, so it is the same on a laptop or a server. What a server changes is whether the window gets used: Claude Code can pick a task back up after a reset only while its session stays open. When does the Claude Code usage limit reset?
Five hours after your session started, whatever the clock says. Anthropic describes a rolling five-hour session window and doesn't document what opens it. The widely reported behaviour, and the one this calculator assumes, is that your first message opens it: send it at 10:20 and the window closes at 15:20. Claude Code's limit message and the /usage command show the exact reset time.
Why does my Claude Code limit reset at a different time each day?
Because the window follows your own usage. On the first message model, a 9am start resets at 2pm and a 1pm start resets at 6pm. There's no fixed daily reset time, so a calculator beats guessing.
I waited 5 hours and I'm still limited. What happened?
You probably hit a weekly limit. Weekly limits sit on top of the five-hour window and reset at a fixed time each week, assigned to your account, so waiting out a session doesn't restore them. It can also be a model limit, such as the Opus limit, and then switching models with /model keeps you working. Claude Code's message names the limit you hit.
Does using Claude on the web use up my Claude Code limit?
Yes. Claude on the web, desktop and mobile and Claude Code all draw from the same pool. A heavy chat session in the browser leaves less for Claude Code inside the same window.
Does running Claude Code on a server give me more usage?
No. The limits follow your Anthropic account, so a cloud computer gets exactly the same quota as your laptop. What changes is whether the window gets used. Claude Code can pick a task back up on its own after a reset, but only while the session stays open. If your laptop sleeps through the reset for more than about 30 minutes, it waits for you to press Enter.
How do I see how much quota I have left?
Run /usage inside Claude Code, or open Settings, then Usage, on your Claude account. Both show what's left in the current session and against the weekly limit, with reset times. Anthropic doesn't publish exact prompt or token caps per plan, so those readouts are more reliable than any published number.
