What does it cost to run Claude Code in the cloud?

Do I need an Anthropic API key?
No key required. You sign in with your own Anthropic account on the computer after launch, the same way you would on your laptop. The session is stored on that computer, and Hivra administrators keep infrastructure access to Hivra-managed hosts.
What happens when I close my laptop?
The computer stays on and keeps your files, sessions and Claude login, and paid plans are never paused for inactivity. A run you start inside tmux in the computer's Terminal tab, or send from Telegram, keeps going with the lid shut, so you can check the result from your phone later. Telegram connects in the agent's Telegram tab, under Manage.
Can Claude Code use a browser on Hivra?
Yes. The computer ships an optional live self-hosted browser. You watch it work in a live view and can log into sites yourself. The browser adds 1 vCPU and 2 GB RAM to the computer, which fits within the $9.99 plan.
Is this a modified version of Claude Code?
No. It's the official CLI from Anthropic, running unmodified on a private VM. Hivra is an independent hosting service and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
How is this different from tmux on a VPS?
Same CLI and the same tmux, without the server work. tmux is already installed, there are no SSH keys to manage, and you reach the computer from any browser. Plus chat, a files view, Telegram and a live browser a bare VPS doesn't have.
Can I run Hivra on my own server instead?
Hivra's own source is open source at github.com/ashneil12/hivra, and you can self-host it. The managed plans are for people who would rather not run the server themselves.
